Sold! Former School Site Approved for 47 New Homes

Warmington Residential just completed the sale of 9.7-acre parcel in Cypress, California, that was previously the site of the Daniel T. Mackay Elementary School, which was closed more than 33 years ago.

This parcel was sold to William Lyon Homes as part of Warmington’s strategic diversification plan that calls for building out some properties and entitling and selling others.

As we announced back in November, the rezoning and redevelopment of a school site involved a unique partnership with Cypress Unified School District and passage of a ballot measure (Measure "R") in order to move forward. Warmington spent about a year and a half working with the city and the citizens of Cypress to gain approval to convert the former school site into a residential tract approved for 47 single-family homes and a 2.9-acre city park.
